The SOC Golf Committee were very happy to donate $10,000 raised from their 2013 Charity Golf Day followed by a second donation of $20,000 from the 2014 Golf day to the Calvary Mater Physiotherapy Department which provide financial support  to patients for the ongoing purchase of pressure bandages.

Lymphoedema can affect patients who have been treated for cancer, including melanoma, and these pressure bandages are expensive and need replacing often to prevent hospital stays.

The total fund of $30,000 has allowed patients to purchase bandages, which may have previously been beyond their financial capabilities and this has assisted in patients having home based care instead of hospitalization.

Unit Manager Judy Holland stated:. On behalf of staff and patients I would like to thank SOC again for the wonderful work you do. Fundraising is not easy and I take my hat off to those that do. I personally am happy to see that patients quality of life is being considered also as this area of treatment is often overlooked for funding.
